CURTIS WARREN was one of many people hauled into the police station for questioning at this time. South Liverpool gossip had it – though the police discount it – that Cocky had ordered David Ungi’s murder. Some of the White Clan were convinced he was behind it. The police had a theory that the two men wanted for questioning, Jackson and O’Rourke, had been spirited away to the West Indies with Warren’s assistance. Once there, so the story went, they had demanded money to start a new life. Instead, Warren had them killed. Tony Bray related the police version of events to Warren in a phone call.
